Colic! There have been a large number of colics reported this winter. Be sure your horse's water supply is not frozen and that your horse does not receive an electrical shock when trying to drink. If there is a short in the water heater, it will cause an electrical current in the water and horses will not drink from the water. Snow is not an option when it comes to a water supply for your horse. A horse can not consume enough snow to keep it hydrated and it lowers the horse's body temperature melting the snow.
